Where it came from
The Duck Family set, released under the LEGO Creator line, was designed as a charming display piece that captures the essence of classic wooden pull-along toys through the medium of modern plastic bricks. Its creation reflects the brand's long-standing tradition of honoring its own history, specifically drawing inspiration from the iconic wooden duck toy produced by the company founder, Ole Kirk Christiansen, in the mid-20th century.
The design process focused on mimicking the stylized, minimalist aesthetic of the original 1930s and 1940s wooden ducks, utilizing a blend of standard and specialized pieces to replicate the rounded forms. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans for its nostalgic value and its clever ability to evoke a vintage toy sensibility while maintaining the functional modularity of the Creator theme.
