Where it came from
The LEGO Easter Magnet Set (852216-1) was released in 2008 as part of a series of seasonal thematic releases that utilized minifigures attached to base plates specifically designed for use on magnetic surfaces. These sets were developed during a period when the company was expanding its small-format accessories to appeal to casual collectors and those looking for modest, holiday-themed decorations that could be displayed on appliances or metallic boards.
The design features two minifigures—a boy in a blue sweater and a girl in a pink shirt—accompanied by buildable accessories including a crate of eggs and a small rabbit. The aesthetic reflects the clean, minimalist style of LEGO minifigure accessory packs from the late 2000s, focusing on playability and simple, festive iconography. Upon release, the set was received as a functional novelty item, primarily serving as a seasonal gift or a small-scale seasonal addition to a broader LEGO collection.
