Where it came from
The LEGO Star Wars Episode III Collectors' Set (65771-1) was released in 2005 to coincide with the cinematic debut of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. This bundle was designed as a promotional offering, grouping together multiple smaller model kits released during the film's launch window to provide fans with a comprehensive entry point into the new wave of Revenge of the Sith merchandise.
The set reflects the design language of the mid-2000s LEGO Star Wars era, characterized by a transition toward more complex building techniques and the inclusion of updated minifigures. As a multi-pack, it was intended for retail distribution during the height of the film's merchandising campaign, and it is viewed by collectors today as a time-capsule piece that captures the specific marketing strategy employed by The LEGO Group during the prequel trilogy's conclusion.
