Fire Command Truck

Released in 2023 as part of the Lego City Fire subtheme, the Fire Command Truck set number 60374-1 was designed to provide a high-play-value centerpiece for the line. It emerged during a period when the Lego City design team was focused on modularity and multi-functional vehicles, moving away from simple fire trucks toward more sophisticated, tech-integrated emergency response units. The set reflects this shift by incorporating a command center, a drone, and integrated water-launching features that distinguish it from the more traditional fire equipment found in earlier decades of the theme.

The design of the 60374-1 was guided by the City team's goal of enhancing narrative play through built-in action features. The vehicle utilizes a contemporary aesthetic common to the 2023 City range, featuring an aggressive, angular chassis and vibrant red and yellow color schemes meant to signify high-intensity emergency scenarios. Reception was generally positive among the building community, with enthusiasts highlighting the complex assembly of the command interior and the clever integration of the drone launch platform as successful evolutions of the fire-rescue vehicle archetype.
