Where it came from
Released in 2023 as part of the LEGO City theme, the Police Training Academy set was designed to capture the dynamic, multi-faceted nature of urban emergency services. The set reflects a broader shift within the City line to introduce modular, play-focused structures that allow for diverse storytelling scenarios, moving away from static buildings toward more interactive environments.
The design team utilized a modular architecture to create a complex obstacle course and training facility, complete with a climbing wall, zip line, and an adjustable agility course. It was well-received by the community for its high density of functional play features and its inclusion of a dedicated police horse and vehicle, which successfully expanded the thematic scope of the modern LEGO City police sub-theme.
