Where it came from
The LEGO City Fire Station set 60110 was released in 2016 as part of the long-running City theme, which serves as the spiritual successor to the classic Town line. This iteration was designed to provide a comprehensive emergency services hub, featuring a modular three-level station, a fire truck, a helicopter, and a motorcycle. It reflects the evolution of LEGO design toward more complex building techniques and higher playability, incorporating specialized molded pieces and a fleet of vehicles to allow for expansive role-play scenarios.
The design team focused on balancing architectural detail with the functional requirements of a play set. By including a garage, office spaces, and a sleeping quarter, the set aims to capture the daily operations of a fire station. Upon its release, it was generally well-received by the collector community for its solid construction and the inclusion of six firefighter minifigures plus a dog figure, which added significant value to the play experience compared to previous, simpler iterations of fire stations in the City range.
