Four Motor Wheel Bushes

The 1102-1 Four Motor Wheel Bushes set was released by LEGO in 1968 as part of the company's early specialized accessory line. Designed during a period when the brand was experimenting with expanding the functionality of its basic bricks, these components were intended to support the integration of motorized elements into custom-built vehicle models. The set provided hobbyists with the specific mechanical fittings required to bridge the gap between static building blocks and moving play, reflecting the era's focus on engineering-oriented play patterns.

The design of these bushes emphasizes utility and mechanical compatibility, prioritizing a standardized fit that allowed builders to attach wheels to axle shafts with greater stability. While the set is relatively modest in scope, it stands as a historical representative of the transition toward more complex, functional sets that eventually led to the development of the LEGO Technic line. The set was generally received by contemporary builders as a practical, albeit niche, utility kit for those engaged in custom automotive construction.
