Where it came from
The Lord Garmadon minifigure included in set 111901-1 was released as part of the LEGO Ninjago theme, a long-running franchise that debuted in 2011. Garmadon serves as the primary antagonist of the series, characterized by his four arms and complex familial relationship with his brother, Sensei Wu, and his son, Lloyd. This specific iteration captures the character's classic dark aesthetic, designed to reflect his transition from a fallen warrior to the overarching threat of the Ninjago universe.
The design of the Garmadon character was a collaborative effort by LEGO's internal design team, aiming to blend traditional Japanese-inspired folklore with modern fantasy tropes. By utilizing a unique torso piece to accommodate four arms, the design team created a distinct silhouette that remains a hallmark of the Ninjago line. The figure was well-received by fans for its accuracy to the character's depiction in both the animated series and the broader Ninjago narrative, solidifying its place as a staple in the collection.
