Spinjitzu Slam - Kai vs. Samurai

Released in 2019 as part of the Lego Ninjago Spinjitzu Slam sub-theme, this set was designed to capture the high-energy, kinetic gameplay of the Ninjago universe. These sets were developed as an evolution of the earlier Spinjitzu spinner concept, focusing on a rapid-fire launcher mechanism that allowed the included minifigures to perform spinning aerial attacks. The design aesthetic draws heavily from the Legacy era of the show, prioritizing playability and ease of assembly for younger builders.

The set includes two unique minifigures, Kai and the Blizzard Samurai, complete with elemental and ice-themed accessories to facilitate the titular duel. The play experience centers on the 'slam' base, a robust plastic construction intended to propel the spinners across a surface. While these sets were primarily marketed toward children as entry-level interactive toys, they were noted by the broader Lego community for their innovative use of specialized molded parts and for successfully modernizing the classic spinner gimmick introduced years prior.
