Where it came from
Released in 2019, the Imperial Dropship (75262) was part of a special five-set wave commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Lego Star Wars theme. The design serves as a modernized homage to the original 7667 Imperial Dropship released in 2008, maintaining the iconic troop transport configuration while incorporating updated building techniques and the more detailed modern minifigure aesthetic that has defined the collaboration between the Lego Group and Lucasfilm for two decades.
The set includes a commemorative 20th-anniversary Han Solo minifigure, designed with a retro-inspired print on the back to honor the early days of the line. The Dropship itself features a detachable troop platform and stud shooters, reflecting the shift toward play-oriented features in the wider Star Wars theme. Upon release, it was received primarily as a collector's item for long-time fans seeking a nostalgic connection to the formative sets of the 2000s.
