Where it came from
Released in 2019 as part of the Lego Star Wars theme, this set features the specialized TIE Baron interceptor piloted by Major Elrik Vonreg in the animated series Star Wars Resistance. The model was designed to reflect the show's distinct, vibrant aesthetic, utilizing a striking red and black color scheme that differentiates it from the standard grey Imperial craft found elsewhere in the Star Wars universe.
The set was developed during a period when Lego was expanding its offerings to include vehicles from modern Lucasfilm animation projects. By incorporating a sophisticated wing-folding mechanism and detailed minifigures including Vonreg and Kazuda Xiono, the design team aimed to capture the sleek, aggressive silhouette of the source material while maintaining the functional play features expected of the Lego system.
