Where it came from
The Imperial Snowtrooper, released as set 911726-1, is a promotional polybag minifigure produced by the LEGO Group to tie into the Star Wars theme. Distributed primarily through LEGO Star Wars magazines in various European markets, this specific iteration was designed to replicate the cold-weather gear of the Galactic Empire's elite infantry units as seen in The Empire Strikes Back. These promotional items were intended as affordable, collectible entry points for fans of the franchise, allowing for the rapid expansion of Hoth-themed dioramas.
The design of the minifigure draws upon the detailed cinematic aesthetic of the snowtrooper armor, characterized by the distinct helmet with environmental protection shielding and the utilitarian white-and-grey color palette. By utilizing standard printing techniques, the designers aimed to capture the essence of the onscreen troopers while maintaining compatibility with the broader LEGO system. While not a unique or rare mold, it remains a well-regarded piece for collectors focusing on Imperial army-building and tactical displays.
