Where it came from
Released in 2018 as part of the LEGO Star Wars Constraction line, this Darth Vader figure, set 75534-1, was designed to offer a larger, highly articulated building experience compared to traditional minifigure-scale sets. The figure utilizes the specialized ball-and-socket joint system characteristic of the Bionicle and Hero Factory lines, allowing for a wide range of motion that was intended to capture the imposing physical presence of the Sith Lord.
The model features a molded helmet, a fabric cape, and a detachable lightsaber, reflecting the design team's focus on creating an action-oriented display piece. While the Constraction series aimed to appeal to fans who enjoyed the mechanical aesthetic of buildable figures, the line ultimately saw mixed reception, leading LEGO to phase out this specific format shortly after the release of this set in favor of returning to more traditional brick-built characters and ships.
