Where it came from
Released in 2017 as part of The LEGO Batman Movie sub-theme, the Killer Croc Tail-Gator (set 70907-1) was designed to accompany the theatrical release of the film. The set centers on a heavy-duty, swamp-themed vehicle for the character Killer Croc, reflecting the whimsical yet chaotic aesthetic established by the movie's art direction, which emphasized exaggerated proportions and vibrant, high-energy designs.
The model features a robust suspension system and an integrated crane, incorporating the character's reptilian motif through swamp-boat styling. It was well-received by collectors for its unique build mechanics and its inclusion of exclusive minifigures, including the first appearance of the film's iteration of Killer Croc, which utilized specialized molded pieces to represent the character's bulky, mutated anatomy.
