Where it came from
Released in 2007 as part of the LEGO Creator theme, the Kraken Attackin' set 6240-1 was designed as a small-scale, accessible build aimed at younger audiences. It features a stylized, brick-built octopus or kraken with movable tentacles and a small diver figure, capturing the quintessential adventurous spirit of aquatic-themed LEGO sets from that era.
The set was developed during a period when LEGO was experimenting with compact, affordable sets that could showcase character-driven builds without the complexity of larger thematic lines. While it did not feature a famous designer or a major licensing tie-in, its minimalist aesthetic and functional design were well-received by fans of the Creator theme for their simplicity and playability.
