Where it came from
The Krait, part of the 2015 Ninjago Tournament of Elements wave, was released as set 891502-1. This polybag set captures the aesthetic of the Anacondrai cultists, a group of serpentine antagonists central to the season's storyline. Its design focuses on the unique printing and headgear characteristic of these characters, intended to provide fans with an accessible way to build out their armies of elemental tournament participants.
The set was distributed primarily as a promotional item, reflecting a common practice for LEGO to release smaller, character-focused polybags alongside main retail waves. The design process centered on translating the complex, tattoo-like scale patterns of the Anacondrai onto a miniature scale, ensuring consistency with the larger sets from the same season. It was generally well-received by collectors who prioritized army-building and completion of the Ninjago character roster.
