Where it came from
The Land Bounty, set number 71869-1, was released by the LEGO Group in 2019 as part of the Ninjago: Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu wave. It represents a significant redesign of the classic vehicle concept, reimagined as a mobile command base to serve the ninja team during their desert-based adventures. The set was designed to be modular and highly playable, incorporating functional steering, a rotating shooting cannon, and an opening cockpit that integrates seamlessly into the aesthetic of the Fire and Ice season.
The design of this iteration draws from the long-standing tradition of large-scale, all-terrain vehicles within the Ninjago line. LEGO designers aimed to balance the rugged, tactical appearance of the desert craft with intricate mechanical details, such as the hidden weapons storage and the detachable flyer. Upon its release, it was well-received by the building community for its robust structure and the inclusion of key characters, effectively capturing the spirit of the ongoing narrative's transition into the desert realm.
