Where it came from
Released in 1997 as part of the LEGO Town theme, the Land Jet 7 (set 6580-1) reflects the aesthetic of late-nineties construction sets. It was designed during a period when the company was exploring futuristic, streamlined vehicle designs that moved away from traditional road-based vehicles to encourage imaginative play focused on exploration and high-speed transit.
The set consists of a sleek, aerodynamic jet-inspired land vehicle accompanied by a single minifigure. Its design relies on specialized sloped bricks and molded elements typical of the era to achieve its tapered, forward-leaning profile. While not part of a major licensed franchise, it is remembered by enthusiasts of the classic Town era for its distinctive color scheme and unconventional silhouette.
