Where it came from
LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues was released in 2009 as a follow-up to the successful 2008 video game adaptation of the Indiana Jones franchise. Developed by Traveller's Tales and published by LucasArts, the title expanded the gameplay scope by including levels based on the fourth film, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, while also revisiting the original trilogy with updated mechanics and a new level editor feature.
The game was designed to improve upon its predecessor by introducing a split-screen co-op mode that allowed players to move independently, a departure from the camera-locked system of the first game. Its aesthetic stayed true to the established LEGO video game visual language, emphasizing lighthearted parody and brick-based puzzle solving, which helped it maintain the franchise's reputation for family-friendly, accessible entertainment.
