Where it came from
Released in 2010 as the second wave of the LEGO Minifigures blind-bagged theme, this collection followed the successful debut of the series earlier that year. The concept was designed to provide fans with unique, high-quality minifigures—each featuring distinct accessories and printed details—without requiring the purchase of larger, expensive building sets. This accessibility transformed the minifigure from a mere component into a standalone collectible item.
The designs for Series 2, which include iconic characters like the Spartan, the Pharao, and the Disco Dancer, were crafted to celebrate a wide array of historical, fantasy, and modern archetypes. The series was met with significant enthusiasm from the adult fan of LEGO (AFOL) community, who praised the intricate dual-molded pieces and the variety of new molds. It solidified the blind-bag format as a permanent and lucrative fixture of the LEGO product ecosystem.
