Where it came from
The LEGO Ninjago World Builder set 12008-1 was released in 2024 as part of a promotional campaign centered on the Ninjago Dragons Rising narrative. Designed as a creative resource for fans to experiment with architectural elements, this set focuses on the modular construction philosophy that has defined the Ninjago theme since its inception in 2011. It serves as an extension of the brand's commitment to encouraging imaginative play through versatile, thematic components rather than static, display-only models.
The design team at the LEGO Group utilized a collection of specialized bricks and accessories to capture the distinct aesthetic of the Ninjago universe, balancing traditional eastern-inspired motifs with the high-energy, futuristic elements characteristic of the Dragons Rising series. The set was received as a functional tool for builders to prototype their own temple-style or city-based structures, reflecting a trend toward open-ended building experiences within licensed themes.
