Where it came from
The Tyr figure, identified as set L0002198-1, originates from the expansive LEGO Ninjago universe, a theme introduced in 2011 that blends ninja mythology with futuristic technology. It was developed by the LEGO design team to serve as part of a specialized sub-series, reflecting the line's hallmark aesthetic of mixing traditional martial arts themes with mechanical, fantastical elements. The character design emphasizes the high-energy, combat-ready appearance characteristic of the Ninjago aesthetic during its middle-era production phase.
As a component of the Ninjago collection, the figure was designed to appeal to both younger fans and adult collectors interested in character-specific accessories and unique molding. The design process focused on cohesive integration with the wider Ninjago narrative, ensuring that the figure complemented existing play sets and seasonal arcs. Upon release, it was generally well-received within the building community for its attention to detail and consistency with the established visual language of the theme.
