LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar

The LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 9509-1 was released in 2012 as the second iteration in what would become an annual tradition for the LEGO Group. Designed to capitalize on the enduring popularity of the Star Wars franchise, the set offers twenty-four individual compartments, each containing a small build or minifigure meant to be opened daily throughout December. The collection was developed to bridge the gap between traditional holiday customs and the vast, modular play system of LEGO, allowing fans to build a miniature galaxy scene progressively.

The design of this specific calendar features a mix of classic trilogy elements and figures inspired by the broader Star Wars universe, including festive-themed characters like a Santa-suit Darth Maul. LEGO designers prioritized high playability despite the small scale, ensuring the builds reflected iconic vessels and characters. Upon its release, the set was well-received by collectors and parents alike, reinforcing the annual calendar series as a staple product that remains a significant point of interest for seasonal LEGO enthusiasts.
