Where it came from
Released by the LEGO Group in 2012 as part of the Star Wars theme, this set features the Republic Striker-class starfighter from the Star Wars: The Old Republic expanded universe. The model was designed to bring a lesser-known vessel from the lore into the physical brick format, specifically highlighting the era of the Old Republic and its distinct aesthetic shift from the classic trilogy designs.
The set was primarily notable for its inclusion of the Satele Shan minifigure and the unique T7-O1 astromech droid. While the vessel itself serves as a niche entry in the Star Wars sub-theme, it received attention from collectors for its functional wing-deployment mechanism and the inclusion of figures representing characters that were then central to the concurrent video game narrative.
