Where it came from
Released in 2012 as part of the LEGO Ninjago theme, the Lizaru set was designed to represent the Serpentine tribes, specifically the Venomari. It was created to provide an entry-level build that highlighted the imaginative, fantasy-driven conflict between the ninja protagonists and their serpentine antagonists, a staple of the series' early expansion.
The figure features the distinct printing and molded headpieces characteristic of the Ninjago line, reflecting the design team's effort to create unique silhouettes for each snake faction. These small sets were well received by fans of the theme for their accessibility and ability to quickly bolster a collection of minifigures, cementing the Venomari as a recognizable element of the Ninjago lore.
