Police Swamp Boat

The Police Swamp Boat set, released in 2005 as part of the LEGO City theme, represents a period when the theme was pivoting toward more specialized rescue and emergency sub-themes. Designed to expand the play environment of the City line, the set was intended to allow children to imagine police patrols navigating difficult marshland terrain. It arrived at a time when LEGO was focusing on diversifying its vehicle offerings to include specialized maritime and off-road craft, providing a distinct aesthetic that departed from the standard urban police vehicles of the era.

The design of the swamp boat centers on its shallow-draft hull and oversized fan propulsion unit, mimicking real-world airboats used in southern wetlands. The aesthetic follows the classic blue and white color scheme associated with LEGO City police sets of the mid-2000s, balancing functional structural elements with the playability of a snap-on cockpit and outboard accessories. While intended for broader distribution, the set is often remembered by collectors for its niche utility and the introduction of specific molded pieces that enhanced the realism of the boat's fan assembly.
