Doc & Patient

Released in 2012 as part of the Lego City theme, set 4936 Doc & Patient belongs to a series of polybag-sized promotional sets designed to populate urban dioramas. The set was created to provide playability within the City environment, focusing on the everyday essential services that characterize the theme's core identity. Its inclusion of a medical professional and a patient highlights the brand's commitment to portraying common civic scenarios, grounding the fantastical building experience in recognizable societal roles.

The design follows the standard aesthetic established for Lego City minifigures during this era, prioritizing clear, accessible iconography to denote the characters' professions. By utilizing simple, classic elements, the designers ensured the set remained versatile and easily integrated into larger hospital or city center builds. The set was generally well-received by collectors for its utility as a low-cost, effective way to expand a collection's population without the need for purchasing larger, more complex building sets.
