Where it came from
The Republic Fighter Tank (set 75182) was released by the LEGO Group in 2017 as part of the Star Wars theme. It is based on the TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank, a vehicle that appeared prominently in the 2003 Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series and later in various Star Wars video games. This set was designed to recreate the armored aesthetics of the original vehicle while incorporating updated play features such as flick-fire missiles and a top-opening cockpit.
The design emphasizes a compact build that reflects the tank's agility in the Clone Wars era. It includes minifigures of Aayla Secura and a Clone Trooper Gunner, catering to collectors interested in the Expanded Universe and prequel-era lore. Upon its release, the set was noted by fans for its inclusion of the Aayla Secura character, whose minifigure had become somewhat rare in the years prior to this iteration.
