Where it came from
Released in 2019 as part of the Lego Ninjago Spinjitzu Slam sub-theme, this set was designed to capture the high-energy, kinetic gameplay of the Ninjago television series. The line was intended to provide an affordable, accessible entry point for children, focusing on a tactile 'spinner' play mechanic that allowed users to launch a minifigure from a specialized plastic base using a ripcord mechanism.
The design emphasizes the iconic green aesthetic associated with the character Lloyd Garmadon, featuring specialized elemental power attachments for the spinner. Developed by the Lego design team in Billund, the set represents an evolution of the earlier Ninjago spinner concepts, refined for higher speed and balance during tabletop combat sessions. It was well-received by fans of the franchise for its portability and its ability to simulate the show's martial arts maneuvers in a physical format.
