Star Wars Episode III poster

The Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith theatrical poster, released in 2005, served as the concluding visual centerpiece for the prequel trilogy. Directed by George Lucas, the film sought to bridge the gap between the internal politics of the Galactic Republic and the rise of the Empire. The promotional materials were designed to evoke a sense of inevitability and tragedy, shifting from the brighter tones of the previous films to a darker, more ominous aesthetic that mirrors Anakin Skywalker's transition into Darth Vader.

The illustrative direction for the final prequel poster drew heavily on the classic compositions of Drew Struzan, who had been a staple of the Star Wars visual identity for decades. His design focused on the central conflict between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, utilizing a layered approach that balanced the main characters with the looming presence of the newly formed Empire. The design was widely praised by the fanbase for capturing the emotional gravity of the final chapter and successfully signaling the tonal shift toward the original trilogy.
