Super Secret Police Dropship

The Super Secret Police Dropship (set 70815) was released in 2014 as part of the initial wave of tie-in products for The LEGO Movie. Designed to represent the airborne strike craft utilized by Lord Business’s authoritarian enforcement arm, the set was conceived to capture the film's satirical take on classic sci-fi and dystopian tropes. Its design emphasizes a sleek, aggressive aesthetic characterized by dark colors and functional weaponry, serving as a physical manifestation of the rigid, conforming world the film’s protagonists seek to overcome.

The set was developed by the LEGO design team to provide a complex build experience that included a variety of play features such as retractable wings and a cockpit capable of housing multiple minifigures. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the theme for its sturdy construction and the inclusion of desirable character figures. It stands as a significant piece from a period where LEGO design began increasingly to mirror the high-fidelity aesthetics seen in major cinematic productions.
