Where it came from
Released in 2020 as part of the LEGO Star Wars theme, this set recreates the character Grogu, affectionately known as The Child, from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. The design was developed following the immense popularity of the character's 2019 debut, aiming to provide fans with a display-focused build that captured his expressive features, including his posable ears, head, and mouth, while maintaining the iconic brick-built aesthetic.
The set was designed to be a companion piece to the earlier LEGO Star Wars Yoda model, utilizing a similar scale and construction technique to maintain consistency across the series. Upon its release, it was well-received by both casual viewers of the show and adult collectors for its balance of accessible building techniques and high-quality display value, solidifying its place as a staple of the modern Star Wars merchandising lineup.
