Where it came from
Released in 2017 to coincide with the theatrical debut of The LEGO Ninjago Movie, this foam katana was produced as part of a promotional line of roleplay accessories. Unlike standard construction sets composed of bricks, this item was designed as a durable, soft-touch prop intended for younger fans to engage in imaginative play while emulating the film's protagonists.
The design of the piece reflects the aesthetic of the Ninjago universe, utilizing the stylized, angular visual language established for the movie’s weapons. As a licensed merchandise product manufactured by the LEGO Group, it was distributed primarily through official brand retail channels and theme parks to bolster the film's immersive marketing campaign, finding a place in collections focused on cinematic tie-ins and branded lifestyle gear.
