Where it came from
The Lego Ninjago Movie Spear, cataloged as part 5005415-1, was released in 2017 to coincide with the theatrical debut of The Lego Ninjago Movie. It was primarily distributed as a promotional accessory, designed to replicate the signature weaponry utilized by the film's central ninja characters. The piece reflects the transition of the Ninjago franchise from its television roots to a high-budget cinematic aesthetic, emphasizing a more detailed and stylized approach to the classic minifigure weapon silhouette.
The design of the spear leans into the franchise's blend of traditional martial arts imagery and futuristic tech-inspired fantasy. By utilizing a standard bar-and-clip connection common to the Lego System, the accessory was intended for high playability, allowing it to integrate seamlessly with various minifigures from the accompanying set waves. It was received by the collector community as a niche collectible, valued primarily by completists looking to curate every specific promotional item associated with the film's marketing campaign.
