Where it came from
The 912508-1 Mandalorian foil polybag is a promotional LEGO Star Wars set released in 2021. It was designed to coincide with the popularity of the Disney+ television series The Mandalorian, specifically highlighting the appearance of the titular character, Din Djarin, as he appeared in his original beskar-clad form. These foil-bagged sets are traditionally distributed as gifts with LEGO-themed magazines, serving as an accessible entry point for fans to acquire a minifigure without purchasing a larger, full-scale retail set.
The design of the minifigure reflects the detailed printing standards of the modern LEGO Star Wars line, featuring accurate helmet molding and torso detailing intended to capture the character's utilitarian aesthetic. While these promotional items are mass-produced for magazine circulation, they have become staples for collectors who focus on character variants and the expansion of their Star Wars minifigure displays. The set is viewed as a functional, compact representation of the series' lead protagonist.
