Tractor wheels and tyres

The LEGO set 1226-1, titled Tractor Wheels and Tyres, was released in the late 1970s as a specialized supplementary pack. During this era, LEGO sought to expand the versatility of its growing vehicle range by offering dedicated wheel sets that allowed builders to move beyond standard car tires. This specific collection was designed to provide builders with the robust, treaded rubber components necessary to construct agricultural or heavy-duty machinery, reflecting a shift toward more thematic, functional building elements.

The design of these wheels was intended to introduce a sense of mechanical realism to the LEGO System. By incorporating distinct tractor-style treads, the set enabled enthusiasts to create vehicles with better visual and physical stability on terrain-simulated builds. While the set itself was a minor accessory pack rather than a flagship kit, it was well-received by the community for its utility, becoming a staple component for creators focused on realistic farm and construction equipment layouts.
