Trade Federation AAT

The LEGO Star Wars Trade Federation AAT (set 7155) was released in 2000 as part of the initial wave of LEGO sets tied to the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Designed to coincide with the release of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, this set captured the distinct aesthetic of the droid tanks used by the Trade Federation army during the Battle of Naboo. It served as one of the earliest examples of how LEGO translated the franchise's cinematic vehicles into brick form, focusing on a compact, functional representation that included both the tank and two battle droid minifigures.

The design of the 7155 AAT reflected the limitations and unique charm of early 2000s LEGO architecture, favoring a streamlined approach that utilized a mix of tan and brown elements to mimic the film's source material. While later iterations of the AAT would become more complex and screen-accurate, this version is widely regarded by collectors as a foundational piece of the Star Wars theme. It was well-received upon launch for providing a relatively affordable entry point into the prequel-era sets and remains a nostalgic touchstone for early adopters of the LEGO Star Wars product line.
