Alma Madrigal

The Reign of Jafar set was released as part of the Disney Lorcana trading card game, designed to expand the competitive landscape by introducing characters from a wider array of animated features. Card number 34, featuring Alma Madrigal from the film Encanto, was crafted to reflect the character's role as the matriarch of the family, utilizing a design aesthetic consistent with the game's high-fantasy art direction. The card was developed by Ravensburger to integrate the narrative themes of the film, specifically focusing on the familial legacy and the magic surrounding the Madrigal household.

Upon its release, the card was classified as an uncommon rarity, positioning it as an accessible staple for deck-building. The design team sought to capture Alma's regal and protective presence, ensuring the illustration aligned with the specific visual style defined by the Lorcana art direction team. While it does not serve as a marquee centerpiece of the set, the card was generally well-received by players for its thematic accuracy and utility in drafting scenarios, serving as a steady representation of the modern Disney canon within the game's mechanics.
