Antonio's Jaguar

Antonio's Jaguar was released as part of The Reign of Jafar, an expansion set for the Aladdin-themed trading card game that flourished during the mid-1990s. The card was designed to populate the lower tiers of the deck, serving as a functional, common-rarity creature card that allowed players to flesh out their boards without depleting their rare card slots. Its inclusion reflects the period's standard practice of building out the internal mythology of film-based properties through supplemental, collectible game mechanics.

The illustrative direction for this card followed the signature house style established by the game’s primary art team, which favored bold linework and expressive color palettes to evoke the atmosphere of the original animated feature. While it was not intended to be a centerpiece of competitive play, the card was widely received by casual collectors as a staple of the common set, appreciated for its consistency in aesthetic design and its straightforward contribution to the game’s overall player experience.
