Ancestral Guitar

The Ancestral Guitar was introduced as part of the Hyperia City expansion set, a collection themed around a speculative, neon-drenched metropolis that blends cybernetic aesthetics with ancient, folkloric motifs. Designed as a focal point for the set's narrative of cultural synthesis, the item represents the bridge between the high-tech reality of the city and the forgotten traditions of its founders. It was crafted to appeal to players seeking utility in-game, functioning as a resonant tool that grants bonuses to performance-based character builds.

The visual identity of the card was helmed by the lead concept team for Hyperia City, who sought to contrast the jagged, cold metal of the cityscape with the organic, weathered wood of the instrument. The illustration features soft, glowing filigree that wraps around the fretboard, intended to evoke a sense of dormant power. Upon release, the card received critical praise from the community for its detailed art direction and its ability to fit seamlessly into both aesthetic-focused decks and competitive playstyles.
