Arthur

Arthur, card number 3 in the Hyperia City set, was released as a special character card during the initial launch of this science-fiction tabletop card game. The set was designed to capture the aesthetic of high-tech urban dystopias, drawing heavy inspiration from the retro-futurist illustrations popular in the late twentieth century. It was created to serve as both a playable tactical asset and a cornerstone of the game's evolving narrative lore, which focuses on the political tensions between the city's governing syndicates.

The card's design is attributed to the lead art team at the studio responsible for the Hyperia City franchise, who aimed to evoke a sense of quiet authority through Arthur’s minimalist attire and the muted, industrial color palette of the background. Upon its debut, the card was received favorably by the community, primarily for its unique mechanical utility within the game's engine. It quickly became a sought-after piece for collectors who appreciated the synthesis of evocative world-building and functional design that defined the series' early years.
