Arthur

Arthur, card number 185 from the Hyperia City set, represents the common-tier character cards that defined the foundation of this trading card game. Released during the height of the mid-2000s expansion wave, the set was designed to introduce players to the sprawling, neon-drenched metropolis of Hyperia. Character cards like Arthur were intended to provide essential utility and board presence for newcomers, serving as the connective tissue for more complex strategic deck-building within the game’s core mechanics.

The visual design of Arthur was helmed by the franchise's lead concept team, who utilized a clean, functional aesthetic typical of the era's CCG art style. The illustration emphasizes the character's role as a street-level informant, characterized by muted tones and sharp, angular lines that echo the industrial architecture of the game's setting. While common cards were produced in high volumes, they remain central to the identity of Hyperia City, often lauded by long-time players for their consistent quality and the clarity they brought to the game’s early competitive meta.
