Provenance

Where it came from

Arthur, a rare character card from the Hyperia City set, was released during the height of the series' popularity as part of an expansion centered on the urban landscape of the titular metropolis. Developed by the design team to reflect the grit and complexity of the setting's narrative, the character was envisioned as a central figure in the local resistance, characterized by muted color palettes and high-contrast linework typical of the era's trading card aesthetics.

The card was designed by the primary illustrative team for Hyperia City, who aimed to move away from the bright, primary-color saturated art of competing franchises in favor of a more cinematic, noir-inspired tone. Upon its release, Arthur was well-received by competitive players for its unique synergy abilities within the game, and it remains a sought-after piece for enthusiasts of the late-series artistic evolution.
