Provenance

Where it came from

Chip, the First Mate, was introduced in the Disney Lorcana set Azurite Sea, which draws inspiration from oceanic themes and the expansive lore of Treasure Planet. Released in late 2024, the card reflects the game's ongoing mission to blend iconic Disney animation with strategic trading card mechanics, specifically highlighting the seafaring aesthetic that defines this particular expansion.

The character design captures the adventurous spirit of the Treasure Planet universe, rendered with the vibrant, stylized art direction characteristic of the Lorcana line. As an uncommon card, it serves as a functional piece of the set's ecosystem, designed by the Ravensburger creative team to offer specific tactical utility in play while providing collectors with a piece of the narrative-driven expansion.
