Where it came from
The Cinderella character card from the Hyperia City set emerged during the mid-2010s, a period when the trading card industry saw a resurgence in stylized, narrative-driven collectible sets. Created as a part of a larger reimagining of classic folklore through a futuristic, urban lens, the card was designed to anchor the 'Fairy Tale District' sub-theme of the expansion. It serves as a prime example of the set’s blend of traditional iconography with high-contrast, cyberpunk-inspired aesthetics.
The artistic direction for this piece was handled by a small team of digital illustrators tasked with subverting nostalgic tropes. The design focuses on a minimalist color palette, opting for neon accents against a muted, metallic background to signify the character's role in the Hyperia City lore. Upon release, the card was noted by collectors for its intentional scarcity, which elevated its status to super-rare, quickly becoming a sought-after staple for players prioritizing deck aesthetics and thematic consistency.
