Provenance

Where it came from

Kenai, appearing as card number 5 in the Shimmering Skies set of the Disney Lorcana trading card game, was introduced in 2024 as part of the game's ongoing expansion series. The set draws inspiration from the magical, shifting landscapes of the Great Illuminary, expanding the roster of characters available to players in the Lorcana universe. This particular card represents the protagonist from the 2003 animated feature Brother Bear, emphasizing his journey and transformation within the game's strategic framework.

The character design maintains a stylistic consistency with the broader Lorcana aesthetic, which bridges traditional Disney character art with the structural requirements of a competitive card game. As a common rarity card, it serves as a foundational piece for players building decks, providing accessibility while integrating the nostalgic themes of the film. The illustration work aligns with the game's commitment to high-quality, vibrant art that reflects the distinct visual language of its source material.
