Where it came from
Prince John, character card 147 from the Shimmering Skies set of the Disney Lorcana trading card game, was released in August 2024. As a super-rare card, it represents part of the game's broader expansion cycle, which draws heavily from the extensive Disney animation catalog to provide both competitive gameplay mechanics and collectible artwork for enthusiasts.
The design of this card features the iconic, greedy antagonist from the 1973 film Robin Hood. The illustrators for the Shimmering Skies set maintain a consistent art style that balances classic character aesthetics with the modern, vibrant visual language of the Lorcana TCG. Upon its release, the card became a notable inclusion for players looking to leverage specific synergy mechanics within the game's competitive environment.
