Provenance

Where it came from

Scar, the iconic antagonist from Disney's The Lion King, was reimagined for the Disney Lorcana trading card game as part of the Azurite Sea set. Released in late 2024, the set introduces a nautical theme, exploring the lore of the Great Illuminary's expeditions. This specific card represents the character in a specialized, high-rarity format, emphasizing his role as a tactical, high-impact character within the game's mechanics.

The card’s illustration reflects the artistic direction of the Disney Lorcana franchise, which seeks to blend classic character silhouettes with modern, vibrant digital painting techniques. Designed to appeal to both competitive players and collectors of Disney memorabilia, the card features unique holographic treatments characteristic of special rarity slots. It serves as a visual bridge between the character's cinematic history and the strategic, interactive landscape of the Lorcana trading card game.
