Though I Have to Say Goodbye

Released as part of the Hyperia City expansion, 'Though I Have to Say Goodbye' serves as a narrative-heavy action card designed to conclude the climactic arc of the Hyperia storyline. It was crafted by the lead design team to represent the emotional culmination of the set's central conflict, functioning as a board-reset mechanic that rewards players for sacrificing their own resources. The card art, rendered in a melancholic, soft-focus illustrative style, depicts the parting of the series' primary protagonists against the backdrop of the collapsing city skyline.

Upon its introduction, the card received significant attention for its high-risk, high-reward gameplay utility, which often forces a shift in momentum during tournament play. While critics initially debated whether the card's steep casting cost justified its effect, it quickly gained a reputation among competitive players as a staple for control-oriented decks. Its inclusion in the rare tier cemented its status as a sought-after collectible, prized both for its strategic value and the resolution it provides to the game's overarching lore.
