Woolter & Jesse

The Woolter & Jesse character card is a prominent entry from the Hyperia City series, which was released during the height of the mid-2010s urban fantasy trading card boom. Designed to capture the gritty, neon-soaked aesthetic of the fictional Hyperia setting, the card depicts two figures central to the set's underworld narrative. The illustration was handled by the studio's primary concept artist, who aimed for a distinct, high-contrast visual style that emphasized the pair's role as tactical specialists within the city's hierarchy.

Upon its release, the card gained moderate traction among players for its utility in gameplay, as the uncommon rarity made it accessible for deck-building without being ubiquitous. Critics and collectors noted the strength of the character design, which managed to evoke a sense of complex storytelling within a single static frame. While not the most valuable card in the Hyperia City line, it is frequently cited by fans as a representative example of the series' successful marriage of atmospheric world-building and character-driven mechanics.
